The Department of Mathematics is committed to providing resources to help ensure that every student has the best possible chance for success in their courses. This page contains information on the Math Help Center, a free tutoring service for students enrolled in Math courses numbered 110 through 233, previous examinations to assist with study preparation, and list of private tutors. In addition to these available resources, each course instructor also provides office hours for assistance.

Math Help Center

The Math Help Center, MHC, provides a variety of free tutoring services for students enrolled in Math courses numbered 110 through 233.

MHC Tutoring // Fall 2023

The Math Help Center, Phillips Hall Room 237, will be hosting in-person hours for Fall 2023. Hours are Monday-Thursday from 10 AM – 4 PM and Fridays from 10 AM – 2 PM. The MHC opens on Monday, August 21st. Please see below for Holiday Hours.

Holiday Hours

The MHC will be closed the following days:

Labor Day: Monday September 4th

University Day: Thursday October 12th Limited Tutors from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Wellness Day: Tuesday September 5th

Wellness Day: Monday September 25th

Fall Break: Thursday October 19th – Friday October 20th

Thanksgiving: Wednesday November 22nd – Friday November 24th

Tutoring Opportunities

The MHC has the following tutoring opportunities:

Work Study Tutors
must qualify for work study through financial aid as well as have a strong mathematical background

Volunteers
must have a strong mathematical background

Private Tutoring

The Math Help Center is for courses 110-233 and is a free resource. The list linked below includes tutoring for all courses, depending on the classes listed per tutor, but is at a fee.
