The UNC-CH Department of Mathematics Commencement is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our majors and recognize the hard work and determination that led them to graduation.
The UNC-CH Mathematics and Statistics and Operations Research Departments will honor graduates in a recognition ceremony on Sunday, May 12th. We will recognize December 2023, May 2024, and expected August 2024 graduates at our ceremony. We hope you will plan to attend and proudly wear your cap and gown.
A few important notes about graduation:
- The ceremony will be Sunday, May 12th, at 11:00 AM in Memorial Hall.
- Guests must have a ticket to attend.
- Your tickets will be available for pick-up in Phillips Hall, Suite 331 on the following dates and times:
Wednesday, May 1 @ 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday, May 3 @ 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Monday, May 6 @ 8AM- 4:30PM
Tuesday, May 7 @ 8 AM – 4:30 PM
More information regarding logistics for the ceremony will be sent to you on Friday, May 3rd.
If you are no longer planning on attending commencement, please let us know.
- In addition to our departmental ceremony, the university will host a Spring commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11th at 7 PM in Kenan Memorial Stadium. The celebration in Kenan does not limit the number of guests you are able to bring. We encourage you to have your larger groups celebrate together with you at this ceremony. - During the graduate recognition, graduates will walk up a short flight of stairs to reach the commencement stage, please be sure to wear appropriate footwear for this event. If you or your guests need accommodations, please complete the form here with additional information as soon as possible. Requests can be served more effectively if notice is provided at least 14 days before the event.

Attendance at both the university ceremony and the department ceremony is optional.
Diplomas are not awarded at either celebration. Diplomas will be mailed to your home address listed in ConnectCarolina. Additional information on diploma distribution.
