UNC PDE Mini-School

March 24 - March 26

With funding provided by the PDE group’s NSF RTG grant, we are excited to announce the return of the UNC PDE Mini-schools and wanted to invite you to the first of these.  The mini-schools are structured around a series of lectures by a principal speaker with a number of satellite lectures by graduate students, postdocs, and other young collaborators chosen by the principal speaker.

This first event will take place March 24-26, 2023, and the principal speaker will be Peter Hintz from ETH Zürich.  The lectures are titled “Geometric singular analysis and black holes”.  Satellite talks will be given by Lili He (Johns Hopkins), Katrina Morgan (a UNC alumnus and now at Northwestern), and Ethan Sussman (MIT).

Peter Hintz has made many enviable discoveries, is a fantastic and thoughtful lecturer, and is a delight to interact with mathematically.  We hope that many will take advantage of this opportunity to learn from him, and we specifically wanted to invite everybody from the department to join.
