Probability and  Ergodic Theory Workshop

A workshop in Probability and Ergodic Theory and some related areas to be held at the
Department of Mathematics UNC Chapel Hill on Friday, Saturday, and  Sunday, February 16-19, 2006.

 
                     The workshop starts on Thursday Feb 16 at 4:00 pm (refreshments at 3:30) with  a departmental colloquium talk.that should be given by
                                                                          Jean Pierre Conze (University of Rennes 1)
                                            
  Asymptotic distributions in dynamical systems : Gaussian laws and other laws
                                                                               It ends on Sunday February 19, 2006.
 
 

The topics covered include
The a.e. divergence in L1 of ergodic averages along squares, weighted averages, Multidimensional Roth Theorem.and Benford laws

Zoltan Buczolich (Eötvos Lorand Univiersity), Daniel Mauldin (University of North Texas),   Ilya Shkredov (Moscow State University),  Christoph Thiele (UCLA).
